The drawings radiate a calming and open effect. They are “pure”, hatched in the graphite tones of the pencil to stimulate the imagination. The light directs the viewer’s gaze intensely into the depths. From a distance an illusion of vastness created by the drawing is possible. Transparent color strips over the drawings and partially color them. This enhances the effect of depth in the horizon motifs. A pleasant, clear atmosphere is created in the room. Each element is assigned a color. The handwriting of the drawing is recognizable. The time gone into the creation of the drawings is palpable – real lifetime brings appreciation to life.
Water triggers a feeling of calm. When we look at the drawing, a feeling similar to looking at the sea, a lake or a river can arise. A sense of the sublime at the sight of vastness in nature, the “being-one-part-with-the-world”, losing oneself in it and yet feeling secure. This is also evoked by the other three motifs: a view over cloud-covered mountain peaks, a sun-drenched “radiant” sky, passing clouds.
