Virtus Constantiae – from the power of consistency
The artwork consists of thirteen panels with plant motifs.
They refer allegorically to the three saints to whom the church was dedicated in the Middle Ages: the Virgin Mary, the dragon slayer George and Valentine, the patron saint of lovers.
Tendril-like elements link the motifs together. They wind their way from one panel to the next. A series of flowers, leaves and fruit can be found along this connection.
They relate to the three saints of the church. The assignment has been handed down through cultural history, such as the lily as a symbol for Mary.
